BUFFALO, N.Y. –The COVID-19 pandemic caused a variety of cancelations and changes to the 2020-21 season. The Villa Maria College Department of Athletics would like the opportunity to thank our seniors for their dedication through their chosen sport. As a result, we will be posting Senior Salutes for each senior throughout the coming days.
 
From Cheektowaga, N.Y. and a graduate of Cheektowaga High School, from the women's soccer team, Megan Marafino.  
 
Major: Interior Design
 
Marafino had her senior year disrupted, but still finished as one of the most decorated student-athletes at Villa. In her three seasons as the Vikings midfielder, Marafino played in 17 games, recorded seven goals on 41 shots, 26 of which were on goal. Marafino also excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the USCAA All-Academic team her Junior and Senior year. To round it all out, Marafino was awarded the 2019-2020 Female Athlete of the Year for Villa after showing tremendous leadership and ability both on and off the field.
