Flag Football Pads NCFFL Undefeated Streak to Double Digits after 5-0 Weekend

LANCASTER, PA. – The Villa Maria College women's flag football team wrapped up play at the NCFFL Pennsylvania Regional Tournament with a 14-6 win over St. Joseph's University Brooklyn on April 11 at Lancaster Bible College.

  • Kiara Mercado scored the opening touchdown on a 50-plus yard reception for a 7-0 Viking lead in the first quarter.
  • Angelina Green caught a second-quarter touchdown pass to improve Villa's lead to 14-0.
  • The Brooklyn Bears got on the board on their final offensive play for the 14-6 final.
  • Brianna Shalinsky finished with two throwing touchdowns.
  • The Viking defense finished with three breakups, three sacks and two interceptions.
  • Lily Runkel finished with a team-best seven stops.
  • Promise Myers registered all three Viking sacks.
  • Kiera LeBreton and Gianna Marciano each recorded a defensive pick.
  • Mercado and Green were named to the All-Tournament Team.
  • The win kept Villa undefeated at 10-0 in NCFFL play.
  • The Vikings finished the five-game tournament with a 118-19 scoring edge.
  • The Villa defense allowed just three scores over five games with each opposition score coming in the final two minutes of play.
