Villa Maria College started off their league schedule going 4-0 over the weekend with two wins over SUNY Geneseo, and wins over SUNY Brockport, and SUNY Cortland.
 
On Saturday, March 15, Villa defeated Geneseo 32-0.  The defense set the tone of the game forcing 6 Geneseo interceptions including a 33 yard pick six by Lily Runkel. Marciano (2), Deja Ferguson, Danialle Rocha, and Alannah Bushorr also had interceptions.  Laila Adeyola added a sack and a flag pull for the Vikings
 
Offensively, quarterback Brianna Shalinsky was 10/18 for 127 yards and 4 TDs.  Marciano, Bushorr, Deja Ferguson, and Keiliyani Diaz each had touchdown receptions for Villa Maria. 
 
For the second matchup of the day Villa Maria defeated a tenacious Cortland team 19-7.  
 
In the first half on back to back series Shalinsky hit Diaz on a twenty yard touchdown pass and then Bushorr on a 31 yard TD pass to give Villa Maria a 13-0 lead.  
 
With the score 13-6 in the third quarter Shalinsky again hit Bushorr on a 4 yard touchdown pass to give Villa Maria a 19-6 lead which would eventually be the final score.  
 
Marciano was exceptional on defense registering a team single game record 12 flag pulls with an additional three passes defensed and an interception.
 
On Sunday, March 16, Villa Maria faced an exceptional Brockport team and came away with a 27-12 victory.  "Brockport is electric," said Villa Maria Head Coach Keith Wing, "their quarterback is one of the best I have ever seen and their defense is tenacious".
 
Shalinsky had career highs in completions and yards going 18 of 25 for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Diaz had four receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns.  Bushorr had four carries for 29 yards and a touchdown and an additional seven receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Defensively Bushorr had two sacks.  Diaz and Ferguson each recorded an interception.  
 
The Vikings ended the day 4-0 after defeating Geneseo 44-0. Bushorr was the star of the day recording a rushing, receiving, and passing touchdown.  Shalinsky went 5 of 9 passing for 93 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Diaz had two receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns.  Braelynne Potter had two carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.  
 
Bushorr, Rocha, and Diaz each had interceptions, while Marciano added a twenty yard pick six.  The Vikings are now 6-3 on the season and 4-0 in league play.
