Vikings Begin 2022 With An Overtime Victory Over Bobcats

Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men's basketball team finally hit the court in 2022 after battling cancellations and postponements. They were on the road, taking on Bryant and Stratton Rochester and it was a thriller at the Edison Tech Gym. The two-team hit late shots in regulation that evened the score and forced the game into overtime, where the Vikings were able to hold on for a tight 77-76 victory. With the win, the Villa record moves to 8-6.
 
Trent Cordone was the leading scorer with 17 points, while contributing three assists and two rebounds. Jeriah Williams was impressive, recording a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double and he was strong on defense with two steals and two blocks. Zamar Harris finished his day with 15 points, going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line and also recorded three assists, three steals and four rebounds. Rhalon Bragg was the other Viking to finish with double-digit scoring with 15 points and was also active on the boards with seven rebounds. 
 
Up next for the Vikings is a cross-town rivalry game against Bryant and Stratton Buffalo on Wednesday, January 26. The game is set for an 8:30 p.m. start time at The Park School.
