BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men's cross country team opened up the 2021 year by participating in the Daniel Walker Invitational at Beaver Island State Park. The race was hosted by Buffalo State College and had competitors from Alfred State, Medaille, D'Youville and the host Bobcats.
The Vikings were represented by
Zachary Voss, a returner from the 2019 group, and
Treyvon Collier, a sophomore at Villa who didn't have the opportunity to run last season due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The two runners finished no. 26 and no. 29 respectively. Voss ran a time of 23:22.03, while Collier hit the finish line with a mark of 23:31:86.
The two athletes will have two weeks until their next race, as Villa is slated to compete in the Alfred State Invite on Saturday, September 18 at 10 a.m.
