BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men and women's basketball teams will both compete in the coming days and it will be the final games of the 2021 year. The two teams have had a good start to the season, with both being ranked in the top-10 of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Coaches Poll. They are aiming to go into the winter break with victories over tough opponents
Villa Men's Basketball at Glenville State College
The men's basketball team ranked no. 9 in the week 3 USCAA Coaches Poll after defeating Ohio Christian University and losing a close battle with no. 1 ranked Miami University Hamilton. They enter the game with a 7-5 record and have been strong away from home, going 3-1 on road games and 1-1 in neutral site games. The Pioneers hold a 4-4 record and enjoy playing at home, securing a 3-1 record at the Waco Center, including three straight.
The matchup is set for a 2 p.m. start on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Villa Women's Basketball v. Bryant and Stratton Buffalo
The women's basketball team dropped to no. 8 in the week 3 USCAA Coaches Poll after dropping two road games last weekend. The Vikings are 9-6 on the year and are happy to be home because they are undefeated (4-0) when playing at the Villa Athletic Center. In order to get back to their winning way, Villa will face off against Bryant and Stratton-Buffalo who are ranked no. 4 in the USCAA DI Coaches Poll. The Bobcats are 8-4 overall and are 3-3 when they hit the road and are on a three-game win streak going into their Friday game.
The matchup is set for 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20
