COBLESKILL, NY - Goals by freshman
Megan Marafino (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga High School) and senior
Breanna Pangel (Holland, NY/Erie Community College) propelled the Villa Maria College women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday afternoon, the program's first ever win.
The Vikings recorded 30 shots with 18 registering on net.  Pangel finished with 14 shots (six on goal) while Marafino finished with seven shots (six on goal).  Marafino scored her first goal of the season, and her career, at the 28-minute mark.  Pangel then put the game away in the 74th minute with her second goal of the seson off an assist from senior

Melyssa Olmstead (Barrie, Ontario, CA/Marygrove College) picked up her first win and shutout, stopping all five shots she faced.

The Vikings return home to host NAIA opponent Point Park University on Thursday, September 21st at 3 p.m. Â This game will be played on campus at Schiller Park, located behind the Athletic Center on campus.
