DELHI, NY - Freshman Brian Johnson (Buffalo, NY/Middle Early College) came off the bench to score a career-high 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds in just nine minutes, but it wasn't enough as #9 Villa dropped a close road contest to #11 SUNY Delhi 82-74 on Saturday afternoon.

Villa led 37-35 at halftime but Delhi opened with three consecutive triples from well beyond the arc.  The Vikings battled but were never able to regain the lead.

Johnson was 6-of-7 from the floor and gave the Vikings a lift off the bench wile notching career-highs in points and rebounds.  Freshman Eric Waters (Buffalo, NY/Oracle Charter) also scored 14 for Villa.  He also grabbed 15 rebounds, dished out five assists and blocked four shots.

Villa came into the game ranked 9th in the latest United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II National Coaches Poll while the Broncos came in ranked 11th.  The Vikings took down the Broncos 104-87 back on December 4th in Buffalo.  The Vikings have four wins against ranked teams this year along with a win over ranked Division I opponent, #9 SUNY Canton.
