CANANDAIGUA, NY – Finger Lakes Community College used a hot start, and strong first half run to defeat the Villa Maria College Vikings 84-54 on Wednesday night on "Putt Moore" Court.
The Vikings hung with the Lakers early, but a 24-3 run midway through the first half allowed Finger Lakes to take a 43-20 lead at halftime.
The Vikings (7-20) were led offensively by freshman
Donte Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Huch Tech) who scored 13 points. Sophomore
Justin Stokes (Buffalo, NY/Middle Early College) finished with 12 points and freshman
Darius Huggins (Buffalo, NY/Lackawana) finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds in just 16 minutes.
Finger Lakes had five players in double figures and were paced by Jonathan Range who netted 21 points. The Lakers shot 50.8 percent from the floor while Villa finished shooting just under 40 percent.
The Vikings return home on Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip against the College of St. Joseph. Villa will play three of it's final five games inside the Villa Athletic Center.
