BRAMPTON, ON - Freshman
Armoni Jordan (Lockport, NY/South Park) was red-hot from the field and paced the Villa Maria Lady Vikings as they picked up their first win of the season, taking down Sheridan College of the Ontario Collegiate Athletic Association 86-55 on Tuesday night.
On a night where Villa took their skills across the border, Jordan was 10-of-11 from the field, netting a game-high 24 points. Â Sophomore
Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) netted 20 points while senior
Jayvonna Kincannon (Buffalo, NY/Erie Community College) scored 17.
After falling behind 25-22 after the first quarter, Villa went on to outscore the Bruins 23-7 in the second quarter. Â They continued the momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Sheridan 29-12.
Freshman
Brooklyn Jenkins (Lockport, NY/Lockport) scored a season-high seven points while fellow freshman
Nina Cray (Wheatland, IA/Calamus-Wheatland) scored six points.
The Lady Vikings are back in action on Saturday when they take part in the Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Tournament in the state's capital.
