BRAMPTON, ON - In an exhibition game across the border, sophomore
DeJaun Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) led the Villa Maria College Vikings with 23 points but the road team was unsuccessful in overtime, falling to the Sheridan College Bruins 94-83 on Tuesday night.
Owens hit four triples and was 9-of-17 from the field. Â He was one of four Vikings in double-figures. Â Junior
Justin Stokes (Buffalo, NY/Middle Early College) scored 19 points while freshman
Gerald Bibbs (Buffalo, NY/Oracle) put home 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Â Fellow freshman
Eric Waters (Buffalo, NY/Oracle) scored 13.
Sophomore point guard
Jayson Moore had a game-high 12 assists. Â As a team the Vikings had 21 assists on 34 made field goals.
Ostap Choliy scored a game-high 35 points for Sheridan, going 14-of-26 from the field.  The Bruins sit at 5-0 on the season as part of the Ontario Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Vikings (2-3) are back in regular season action Friday when they take on York College (NY) on Friday at 6 p.m. as part of the Cole's Classic hosted by Buffalo State College. Â The game will take place at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.Â
