OAKVILLE, ON - Playing with just five players, the Villa Maria Lady Vikings were carried to a narrow 67-63 victory over Sheridan College on Tuesday, by freshman
Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) and senior
Magan Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Erie Community).
Owens recorded the first 30-20 game in program history, scoring 32 points and corralling 21 rebounds. Â Campbell scored 31 points, also finishing with 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Â Owens and Campbell scored 63 of the Villa 67 points, with junior
Tia Onipede (Buffalo, NY/Erie Community) scoring the other four points.
Owens knocked down four triples while Campbell connected on two. Â Villa held Sheridan to under 30 percent from the floor and forced the Bruins into 21 turnovers.
The Lady Vikings return home to face Niagara County Community College on December 9, after playing the last four games on the road. Â They completed the road trip 2-2, winning the final two games.
