BUFFALO, NY - Bluffton University shot nearly 55 percent from the field and 61 percent in the first half en route to taking down the Villa Vikings 87-65 in the second round of the Cole's Classic at Buffalo State College, hosted by the Bengals.
Villa couldn't overcome a 23-7 run by Bluffton in the first half as the Beavers never looked back.  After stretching their lead to as many as 35 in the second half, the bench of Villa was able to battle back out-scoring  Bluffton by 13 over the final 8:56.
Darius Huggins (Buffalo, NY/Lackawanna) led the Vikings with 12 points and 6 rebounds and was also named to the All-Tournament Team. Â
Donte Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Huch Tech) who made his first career start, scored 11 points, his third straight game in double-figures and sixth such game of the season.
The Vikings shot over 53 percent from the floor in the second half and got 33 points from their bench. Â
Jayson Moore (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) scored nine points and
Craig Page (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston Porter) chipped in eight. Â
Jaelyn Hall (Buffalo, NY/Burgard) and
Jermaine Hairston (Cheektowaga, NY/Cleveland Hill) each added five.
The Vikings return home for their next game on Monday against the University of Pittsburgh - Titusville. Â Tip is set for 8 pm.
