Vikings Drop Road Contest to Central Penn

Huggins scores 30 in loss

ENOLA, PA – Despite a fast start, the Villa Vikings could not contain the high offensive power of Central Pennsylvania College and fell to the Knights 105-87 on Sunday afternoon.

Central Penn, who was the second consecutive team the Vikings faced from the 2014-15 USCAA National Tournament field - after defeating the three-time defending Penn State Athletic Conference champions, Penn State York on Saturday - were paced by Tyree Tucker who scored 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting.

Villa freshman center Darius Huggins (Buffalo, NY/Lackawanna) led the Vikings with 30 points and 12 rebounds, his second double-double of the season.  He was 11-of-13 from the floor and made 15 trips to the free throw line.  Sophomore Justin Stokes (Buffalo, NY/Early Middle College) netted 20 points for the second consecutive game.

Sophomore Jayson Moore (Amherst, NY/Sweet Home) and freshman Donte Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Huch Tech) each scored nine points for Villa.

The Vikings, who fall to 3-3 on the season, and 3-1 against USCAA opponents, travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday to take on Point Park at 7:30 p.m.
