GENESEO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's flag football team had its nine-game win streak snapped by SUNY Geneseo, 32-18, in a non-conference game on April 7 at SUNY Geneseo College Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Geneseo opened the scoring on its first drive with a passing touchdown for a 7-0 lead.
- The Vikings responded with a Scarlett Melancon run late in the first quarter to cut the deficit to 7-6.
- The Knights opened the second quarter with another passing score for a 13-6 lead.
- Villa answered with a passing touchdown of their own after a reception by Eva Torrado to make it a one-point game at 13-12 at halftime.
- The game was ultimately decided in the third quarter when the Knights added 13 points for a 26-12 lead.
- Each team scored once in the fourth with the Vikings scoring first to cut the Knights' lead to 26-18 after an Alannah Bushorr reception from deep in the redzone.
- Brianna Shalinsky threw a pair of touchdowns in the game.
- Bushorr was the Vikings' leading receiver with six catches for 68 yards and one score.
- The Viking defense finished with two interceptions, two sacks and two tackles-for-loss.
- Kiera LeBreton led the defense with seven tackles and one interception.
- Villa's nine-game win streak exceeded last season's win streak of seven games.
