ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's flag football team extended its win streak to eight games after a victory over Hartwick College, 28-18, in a non-conference game on April 3 at the Adpro Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Hartwick opened the scoring on a pass play for a 6-0 lead.
- Scarlett Melancon scored twice on back-to-back runs to end the first quarter scoring and begin scoring in the second quarter to put the Vikings ahead 14-6.
- The Hawks cut the deficit to two points with a run to close the first half, 14-12.
- Kiara Mercado scored a rushing touchdown in the third quarter for a 21-12 lead.
- The Vikings then added a passing score from Brianna Shalinsky to Ashley Nikodijevic to increase the Villa lead to 28-12 in the fourth quarter.
- Hartwick closed out the game's scoring on a late fourth-quarter passing play for the 28-18 final.
- Villa converted extra points on each of its four scores.
- The Vikings answered the Hawks twice with back-to-back scores.
- It was Hartwick's first double-digit loss of the season.
