AMHERST, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's flag football team bested Bryant and Stratton College Albany, 37-6, in a National Collegiate Flag Football League contest in the first game of a doubleheader with the Bobcats on Sunday, April 19 at Williamsville South High School.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Alannah Bushorr opened the scoring with a reception in first quarter for a 6-0 lead.
- The Vikings pushed their lead to 12-0 after Keiliany Diaz hauled in a 50-plus yard reception.
- Scarlett Melancon's run closed out the first-quarter scoring for a 19-0 Viking lead.
- The Bobcats got on the board with a rushing touchdown to close the first-half scoring at 19-6.
- Bushorr scored her second TD of the game to open the second-half scoring with a 20-yard run to give Villa a 25-6 lead.
- Gianna Marciano scored from a pass from Bushorr to close the third-quarter scoring at 31-6.
- Morgyn Mersdorf rounded out the game's scoring in the final quarter with a rushing touchdown for the 37-6 final.
- Brianna Shalinsky finished with two touchdown throws.
- The Viking defense finished with five tackles-for-loss, four breakups and three interceptions.
- Kiara Mercado led Villa with seven stops.
- Interceptions came from Promise Myers, Kiera LeBreton and Diaz.
- Angelina Green and Myers each registered two tackles-for-loss.
- The victory was the Vikings' seventh straight and left Villa with an 11-0 record in NCFFL play.
