Villa Maria College is proud to announce the appointment of Christopher Heximer as its new Director of Athletics. With a distinguished background in collegiate education, coaching, and leadership, Heximer brings over three decades of experience to this pivotal role.
A seasoned coach with a passion for mentorship, Heximer's athletic résumé includes a successful 25-year coaching career in wrestling and football at both the high school and collegiate levels. In fact, Heximer has already made a mark on the College, serving as the assistant coach and defensive coordinator for the women's flag football team. Alongside Head Coach Keith Wing, Heximer has grown the program to rank in the top 25 women's college flag football teams.
"We are pleased to welcome Chris Heximer as the new Director of Athletics at Villa Maria College," said Executive Vice President Brian Emerson. "He has a valuable blend of administrative experience in the high school and collegiate setting, along with over 20 years of coaching experience. I look forward to working with Chris to continue to build on Villa's tradition of supporting student-athletes who compete at a very high level of inter-collegiate athletics."
As Director of Athletics, Heximer will lead all aspects of Villa Maria College's athletic programs, providing leadership, managing operations, and guiding strategic planning to ensure the department supports student success and aligns with the College's mission.

Outside of Villa, Heximer is a clinical supervisor of the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Buffalo State University. He has also worked for Starpoint Central School District, Stanley G. Falk School, and Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center. In addition to coaching at Villa and Williamsville South, Heximer coached at Wilson High School and Canisius High School.
Heximer holds a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and a Bachelor of Arts in degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
