BROOKLINE, Mass. – The Villa Maria College men's basketball team opened its season with a 136-96 road loss to Fisher College on Oct. 25.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Fisher jumped out to a 32-point lead before finishing the first half with a 67-36 edge.
• Villa played a much closer second half with the teams three scores apart.
• Villa's best scoring stretch came late in the second half with a 10-0 run led by Maurice Woods and Leonte Jones with four points each.
• Jaylin Gadley registered a double-double with a team-best 22 points to go with 10 boards from the bench.
• Bryan Adams finished with 21 points and combined with Gadley's 22, collectively finishing with nearly half of the Viking points.
• Villa dominated the boards with a 50-35 edge in rebounds, led by Woods' 17.
• The Vikings excelled in fast-break points with a 26-8 advantage.
