BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College Athletic Department is releasing the second edition of "Get To Know The Viking", which will highlight the student-athletes across all sports. This week, Lucas Mendes of men's soccer, sits down to talk about his journey to Villa, what it means to be an athlete and some fun questions that brings out who he is off the field.

Mendes was the starting goalkeeper in nine of the teams 13 games and collected over 50 saves and faces over 100 shots. It was his first year of collegiate soccer and showed flashes of skill and mental toughness in every game. As he heads into the off-season he will look to continue his growth both on and off the field.
