BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College athletic department is proud to announce the October Vikings of the Month as the men's soccer team wrapped up their 2021 season. Patricio Vilchis is a freshman midfielder, who has played all over the field in his first year as a Vikings. 
 
Vilchis has started in every game this season and has played all 90 minutes. He appeared as a defenseman at both back positions, a winger that pushed up the sides of the field and proved versatile in the middle of the field as well. He proved to be an impactful leader both on and off the field. 
 
"His focus and dedication on the field and in the classroom is exceptional," said head coach, Mark Evertt.
 
"He has led the team not only with his words, but by his actions as well," coach added.

"Moving to a different country in order to achieve your dreams is never easy…" said Vilchis. 
 
"… but passion, dedication, consistency and hard work are always what drives me towards success," he added.
