BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men's basketball team competed in day two of the Bobcat Bash and they took on Washington Adventist University. The result did not go the Vikings way as they fell by a final score of 89-54 and move to 3-3 on the year. The Shock shift to 2-0 on the year after they defeated the hosts Bryant and Stratton-Buffalo the day prior.
The Vikings offense got off to a slow start scoring just four points in the opening ten minutes of action. It began to pick up starting with a pair of free-throws by
Jeriah Williams and then layups by
Trent Cordone and
Zamar Harris cut the deficit to single digits. A three-point play by Cordone decrease the opposition lead to 19-13, but the offense went cold again, and the Shock caught fire. At the break, Villa trailed 42-23. The second half saw similar results as the first, with Villa being outscored 47-31. When the final horn sounded, the Vikings were on the wrong side of a 89-54 loss.
Jaiden Green was the leading scorer for Villa with 16 points and added eight rebounds and three assists. Cordone also finished in double digit scoring with 11 points and collected six rebounds and dished out four assists.
Up next for Villa is a road game against Central Pennsylvania College on Saturday, November 20 at 2 p.m.
