Vikings Set To Face Central Maine In Semi-Final

UNIONTOWN, PA – The Villa Maria College women's basketball team punched their ticket to the semi-finals of the Unites States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Basketball National Championships and waited to see who they will be facing. Monday afternoon the Vikings got their answer as Central Maine Community College defeated Johnson and Wales University-Charlotte, 79-63.

This matchup will be a rematch of last season National Championship game where the Vikings fell to the Mustangs 85-78. Bianca Brown, Tekia Gary and Taliah Bush all competed in last year's matchup and will look to add those experiences to this season's unit in what will be a competitive matchup.

Central Maine is the no. 2 seed and finished the regular season with a 22-3 record including an impressive 15-0 at home. The Mustangs won the Yankee Small College Conference Championship and are riding a four-game win streak heading into their Tuesday matchup against Villa. The team averages 82.5 points per game, 44.1 rebounds per game and 18.3 assists per game.

The matchup will take place on Tuesday, March 10 at the Penn State Fayette Maine Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
