ALFRED, NY - Shaquana Owens and
Nina Cray each finished with 15 rebounds and double-doubles as Villa had six players score in double-figures in it's 21st consecutive win at Alfred State on Wednesday evening. The Vikings pulled away late from the Pioneers, securing an 87-81 win inside the Orvis Activity Center.
Sophomore
Armoni Jordan led the way with 16 points for the Vikings while Cray and Owens netted 15 and 14 points a piece in their double-double performances. Cray was an effective 7-of-13 from the field while Owens added six assists and three steals. Villa led by as many as 15 and forced 15 Alfred State turnovers.
Villa saw itself trailing by five with just over four minutes left in the third quarter and cut it a one point game with just over a minute left in the quarter. From there, they seized control of the game, going on a 15-0 run to go ahead by 14 with 7:08 left in the game.
The Vikings overcame a career-night from Alfred State's Jordyn Pettit, who finished with 31 points and 16 rebounds. Rayanna Anderson finished with a triple-double for the Pioneers as well, racking up 14 points, 13 assists and 11 boards.
Villa came into the game again holding the top spot in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Coaches Poll. At 21 games, the Vikings hold the longest winning streak in the country within the USCAA.

Villa wraps up it's regular season with a home game on Saturday against Green Mountain College. The Vikings will honor three graduating players (Owens, Cray and
Bianca Brown) following the game before the men's contest at 4 p.m.
