BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men's soccer team wrapped up the home portion of their schedule on Saturday when they hosted Erie Community College. After two energetic halves of soccer, the Vikings dropped the match by a score of 10-0.
Wit Supprapipatp got the action started, with a shot at the 1:30 mark. The first few minutes of the half saw Villa battle against a strong offense, but they held off and kept the game scoreless until the 13:12 mark. As the first half ended, two Vikings were able to create a chance offensively. The first was a shot outside the box by
Nick Tabak that was saved by the goalkeeper. A couple of minutes later, Supprapipatp took his second shot of the match, but it was just wide of the post.
Liam Kerr made a total of 12 saves on the day. Supprapipatp and Tabak combined for four shots, two of which were shots on goal.
"Kerr stepped up and filled the goalie position like an MVP," stated head coach,
Mark Evertt. "His communication, shot stopping and distribution helped keep the ball out of the net for the first third of the game."
The Vikings will take to the road on Sunday, Oct. 20 when they take on Lorain County Community College for a 1 p.m. kick off.
