BUFFALO, NY - Senior goalkeeper Shaquana Owens made 18 saves, helping the Villa Maria College Vikings hang with the Alfred State Pioneers for much of Saturday's 9-0 defeat on Pierce Field at Mulroy Park.

Villa, which played most of the game a player down, did a job holding off and disrupting the Alfred State attack in the first half.  The depth of the Pioneers was just a bit too much for the Vikings to handle down the stretch.

Next up for the Vikings is a trip to Vermont for games against Paul Smith's College and Green Mountain College next weekend.
