BUFFALO, NY - The Villa Maria College Lady Vikings celebrated senior day and also got to celebrate a victory, as they picked up their fifth straight victory, upending the defending United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division II National Champion, College of St. Joseph 81-64 on Sunday afternoon.

Villa's lone senior Jayvonna Kincannon (Buffalo, NY/Genesee Community) was honored before the game and she added to her win total and impact on the Villa program.  Kincannon scored 15 points and dished out five dimes in her final home game.  She also added three steals and three rebounds.  The Lady Vikings improved to 37-16 during her time.

Leading the way offensively once again was sophomore Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) who scored 23 points and secured seven rebounds.  She also added four steals, four assists and two blocks.  Junior Dominique Davis (Buffalo, NY/Genesee Community) recorded her second double-double of the season and nearly picked up her first triple-double.  She scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  She racked up seven assists as well.

Villa battled through foul trouble in the first half but managed to overcome it to outscore St. Joseph 38-33 in the second half, despite shooting just 31.9 percent over the final 20 minutes.  They forced 23 turnovers and came up with 12 steals.

Kincannon hit the game's biggest shot at the end of the first half when she drilled a catch-and-shoot three as the buzzer sounded.  The big shot from the right wing put Villa ahead by 12 at the break.

* Freshman Armoni Jordan (Lockport, NY/South Park) scored 13 points while fellow freshman Nina Cray (Wheatland, IA/Calamus-Wheatland) finished with six points and 12 rebounds.
* St. Joseph won the battle on the boards, 72-45
* Villa led by as many as 19 points
* Villa outscored CSJ in the paint, 38-34
* The Lady Vikings scored 28 points off turnovers

The Lady Vikings close their regular season on Saturday, February 18th at SUNY Canton.  Villa defeated the Kangaroos 89-54 back on January 20th in Buffalo.
