BUFFALO, NY - Five players scored in double-figures and the Villa Maria Vikings shot 67 percent in the second half as they took down Washington Adventist University 96-80 on Thursday evening in the final game of the Villa Holiday Classic to improve to 13-1 on the season.
After leading by five at halftime, Villa out-scored the Shock by 11 over the final 20 minutes and held them to 36 percent shooting in that time. Junior
Dominic Douglas (Bainbridge, GA/Bainbridge High School) led Villa with 21 points while fellow junior
DeJaun Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter School) scored 19.
Villa trailed by four early but controlled the pace throughout most of the game. They opened the second half on a 13-4 run and never looked back. Villa forced Washington Adventist into 23 turnovers and turned those into 19 points. They out-scored the Shock 50-40 in the paint and 22-14 in bench points.

Jay Scarbrough (Niagara Falls, NY/Cayuga Community College) came off the pine to chip in 11 points. He also finished with seven assists, seven steals and six rebounds. His defense was superb throughout.

Jonathan Pozo (Bronx, NY/Erie Community College) finished with a season-high 16 points and was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Senior
Justin Stokes (Buffalo, NY/Middle Early College) also hit double-figures, finishing with 10 points, six assists, four steals and three blocks. Freshman
Lonnie Taylor (Medina, NY/Medina High School) finished with eight points and five rebounds in just 17 minutes as he battled foul trouble.
Villa has now won 15 straight games at home and will close out the calendar year at Kent State Tuscarawas on Thursday, December 28th at 4 p.m.
