HOUGHTON, NY - The Villa Maria men's basketball team proved to once again be road warriors, picking up a 79-73 victory over the Houghton College Highlanders on Wednesday night behind 23 points from junior guard DeJaun Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter School).

The Vikings one their first game as the United States Collegiate Association number-one ranked team, as they achieved the highest ranking in program history in the coaches poll, released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Vikings led by as many as 16 late in the second half.

Villa is back in action on Saturday when they host fellow USCAA II member SUNY ESF at 4 p.m.
