BUFFALO, NY - The Villa Maria women's soccer team faced one of it's toughest contests to date as they took on fellow Northeastern Intercollegiate Athletics Association foe, and NAIA member Fisher College on Sunday afternoon. Despite a strong effort, the Falcons got the best of the Vikings, winning 8-0 on Pierce Field at Mulroy Park.

Fisher improved to 9-3 on the season and were led by senior Juila Schojan who netted three goals.  Villa goalkeeper Melyssa Olmstead (Barrie, Ontario, CA/Marygrove College) stopped eight of 14 shots on net before exiting with an injury.  She was relieved by freshman Megan Marafino (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga High School) who stopped two of four shots on net after recording one shot on net herself.  Senior Breanna Pangel took a team-high three shots with two on net for Villa.

UP NEXT
Villa finished it's regular season with a 1-8-0 record and anticipates a number-four seed in the upcoming NIAC Conference Tournament to be held at Fisher College, November 4th and 5th.
