SANBORN, NY - The Villa Maria College Vikings played the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves tight, but couldn't close the game late as they dropped the road contest 93-76 on Thursday evening.
Villa freshman
Donte Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Huch Tech) led all scorers with 30 points.  The Huch Tech grad was 5-of-7 from beyond the arc and 10-of-17 overall from the field.  He added seven rebounds, five assists and a steal.
The Vikings were within three, 40-37 at halftime and stayed within a possession for the first 10 minutes but a number of momentum-changing calls and game swings tilted the game in the Thunderwolves favor.
Freshman
Darius Huggins (Buffalo, NY/Lackawanna) notched his 16th double-double of the year, registering 14 points and 11 rebounds. Â Sophomore
Justin Stokes (Buffalo, NY/Middle Early College) chipped in 11 points, five assists and two blocks.
The Vikings are back in action on Saturday, February 13 when they travel to take on SUNY Canton. Â Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m. Â The Vikings edged out an 87-86 victory over the fourth-ranked Kangaroos back on January 16.
