TINTON FALLS, N.J. – The Villa Maria College women's flag football team shutout St. Joseph's University (Brooklyn) and scored 31 points in an NCFFL quarterfinal playoff win on May 3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Alannah Bushorr's reception gave the Vikings a 6-0 first-quarter lead.
- Scarlett Melancon made it 13-0 on a rushing TD to close out the first-quarter scoring.
- Kiara Mercado caught a reception in the second quarter to pad the Villa lead to 19-0.
- Bushorr scored her second TD of the game on a run to close out the first-half scoring at 25-0.
- Bushorr got her third score of the game on a TD reception in the fourth quarter to close out the game's scoring at 31-0.
- Brianna Shalinsky finished with three passing TD's.
- Kiera LeBreton and Alyssa Saavedra led the defense in tackles.
- The defense came away with three sacks from Angelina Green, Promise Myers and Lily Runkel.
- Layla Gallant registered an interception.
- The Vikings improved upon their one-score win with the Bears earlier this season.
- Villa entered the quarterfinals as the top seed, while St. Joseph's was ranked No. 8.
- The victory gave Villa 21 wins on the season, setting a new program record.
