Men's Basketball finished up their season just shy of their goal, they were the USCAA National Championship runners up- losing in the final game of the tournament 43-64 to the Apprentice School.
"Although we did not ultimately finish the way we wanted to, it is still surreal to say that we actually played in the national championship game. There are only two teams in the country that get that opportunity and have the ability to say they did that, and we are one of them. Now the expectation from here on out is to be in the National Championship game, the goal is to take the next step and win it!" says Head Coach Desmond Randall as he reflects on the final game of their season.
The Vikings had an historic season, nonetheless, finishing 22-8 and having three members of the team eclipse 1,000 career points: Juston Johnson (senior, guard), Nolan Shephard (senior, forward) and Bryan Adams (junior, guard).
"I think what made us who we were was having several different guys lead us at different times this season. That is what made us a very good team. We had the ability to have different guys step up when we needed them to. Juston was our leader and the engine that made us go. Teams came in mainly trying to stop him, which allowed for guys like Nolan Shephard, Bryan Adams, Santi Manero, and Bryant Rosa to step up big in many games."
The Vikings are focused on strengthening their roster with new talent as they strive to build upon last season's success and contend for a national championship in the upcoming year.
