Women’s Basketball Wraps Up Tourney Against SUNY-Niagara

SANBORN, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's basketball team fell to the tournament host T-Wolves, 90-30, in a non-conference game in SUNY-Niagara's Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 23.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Vikings had its best quarter in the third, playing the T-Wolves to one-score
  • Lyliana Edwards led Villa with seven points.
  • Alyssa Saavedra and Keiliany Diaz finished with six points each.
  • Edwards was the game's top rebounder (12) and shot blocker (6).
  • Kiki Mercado's five steals nearly matched the entire steal total of the opposition.
  • Villa held the edge in free throw percentage, 66-53, by shooting 8-of-12.
