BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's basketball team secured a talented player on Tuesday, as Ellanda Francois announced her commitment to Villa. Francois is a native of Naples, Florida and attended Gulf Coast High School.
In her senior year, the forward impressed with 269 points and 128 rebounds. She helped lead the Sharks to a 22-6 overall record, as well as an appearance to the Elite 8 of the Girls Class 7A State Tournament.
Head Coach Mike McCarthy is excited to have such a high character student-athlete joining the Viking family.
"Ellanda is a great kid and equally great player," he said.
"She come from a good family, with great values and she was at the top of our recruiting board," he added. "We are thrilled to get a player and person of her caliber."
