Box Score CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's basketball team were on the road on Wednesday against Finger Lakes Community College and they were impressive as they led from beginning to end and won 87-43. The Vikings move to 8-4 on the year and have won three straight, while the Lakers drop their sixth straight to go to 2-8 on the year.
 
The Vikings got off to a tremendous start, scoring 21 unanswered points to start the game. Danyea Barclay and Autumn Adams-Edwards combined to score the first 12 points before Maria Falanga knocked down a three. Chmicka Kennedy added her first bucket of the game to put the team ahead 21-0 with 4:20 to go in the first quarter. Barclay scored 13 points in the first quarter, and the team led 29-6 after the first ten minutes. The offense cooled down in the second frame, but they were still strong defensively, forcing eight turnovers and holding the team to just 11 points. At halftime, Villa was comfortably ahead, 49-17.
 
Coming out the break, the Vikings defense was still aggressive, forcing almost as many turnovers (6) as points allowed (7). Barclay continued to lead the team with eight points and six rebounds, three of which were offensive boards. FLCC caught fire in the final ten minutes of action scoring 19 points, but Villa shot 50 percent from the field to collect 17 points of there own and secure the 87-43 victory.
 
Barclay scored 27 points on 13-for-18 shooting from the field, while also grabbing 14 rebounds, swatting away five shots and dishing our four assists. McQuiller recorded 16 points, stole the ball five times and grabbed four rebounds. Falanga also collected 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
 
Up next for Villa is a home game against Jamestown Community College. The game is slated for a 5:30 pm start at the Villa Athletic Center.
