No. 2 Ranked Women’s Basketball Host Knights For Final Home Game

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College women's basketball team are coming off of a loss to Bryant and Stratton College-Rochester, but they have been impressive this year as they worked their way to a 17-3 record with just two games left in the regular season. The Vikings will play their final home game on Saturday, when they host Central Penn College. 
 
Undefeated At Home: Villa has been absolutely dominate at home as they have put together an 11-0 record when they play in the Vikings Athletic Center. Their most recent home victory came on Monday, Feb. 3 as they defeated Jamestown Community College, 81-49. Going back to last season, the Vikings have won 18 straight home contests. 
 
Winfield Helping Collect Wins: Dakaylah Winfield has been impressive, averaging 34.3 minutes per game as the floor general. In that time, she as recorded 15.0 points per game, 5.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game. She has shot 43 percent from the field and a scorching 46.8 percent from three. Winfield is ranked no. 3 in the USCAA in assists per game and no. 1 in three-point percentage. 
 
Three Point Shooting: Winfield is not the only Viking who has been impressive with their shooting from three. Bianca Brown and Ta Lia Burgess, both sit in the top-25 in three-point percentage in the USCAA. Brown ranks no. 10 with a 37.5 percentage, which has helped her score 11.6 points per game. Burgess averages 10.5 points per game, while shooting 32.6 percent from three and that is good for no. 21 in the USCAA. 
 
Scouting Central Penn: Central Penn College has worked their way to a 12-2 record and are on a four-game winning streak. The Knights have averaged 69.6 points per game, 41.2 rebounds per game and 15.7 assists per game. The team is sitting just outside the top-15 and are looking to work their way back with a string of victories.
 
Looking Ahead: After their game on Saturday, the Vikings will play their season finale on Wednesday, Feb. 19 when they travel to Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
