DIX HILLS, N.Y. – The Villa Maria College men's soccer team traveled to Five Towns College for what turned out to be a physical soccer match. After 90 minutes of play, the Vikings fell by a score of 10-0. The loss moves them to an 0-6 record, while the Sounds shift to 5-2-1.
The first half of the saw Villa attack early with
Wit Supprapipatp take a shot that was saved by the opposing goalie. Despite a few attacks by the sound, the Vikings defense made things tough for the and forced wide shots. After falling behind early, Villa stuck together on defense creating offsides and drawing fouls.
Santiago Aguirre got in a groove and collected multiple saves as the teams starting goalkeeper.
Adura Zat and Supprapipatp each recorded a shot in their 88 minutes of play on the field together. Aguirre faced 19 shots and had 11 saves in 78 minutes in between the post.
"After a couple of early goals, the team held an even tempo," stated head coach

Jude Gamble was a key for us, with his tenacious play that controlled the field on attack and defense."
Villa remains on the road as they battle Bryant and Stratton – Albany on Sunday, Oct. 5 with the match set to begin at 3 p.m.
