BUFFALO, NY - A massive run to open the game helped the Villa Maria Vikings pick up an easy win and their 11th straight, taking down the Sheridan Bruins 79-45 in the Villa Holiday Classic on Wednesday night inside the Villa Athletic Center.
Senior
Shaquana Owens scored a team-high 17 points and dished out 11 helpers. Â She was three rebounds shy of yet another triple-double, securing seven boards to go along with three steals and three blocks. Â Junior
Tekia Gary scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting in just 13 minutes. Â
Bianca Brown added 10 points while
Renita Johnson scored 10 off the bench, her second highest point total of the season.

Armoni Jordan and freshman
Hannah Day each scored six points off the bench as well. Â Day added four rebounds while Jordan had five steals. The six points and four rebounds were both a career-high for Day.
Villa led 25-6 after the first quarter and ran away over the final 30 minutes. Â They led by as many as 41.
WHAT'S NEXT
Villa hosts Sheridan once again on Thursday at 2 p.m. before a much needed holiday break. Â They will head to Florida after the new year for the Johnson University Tournament.
