YORK, PA - Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter School) led the charge as Villa's team effort resulted in an 81-74 road victory over Penn State York on Friday evening, the third staright win for the Vikings.
Owens scored a game-high 26 and added 12 rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Sophomore's
Nina Cray (Wheatland, IA/Calamus-Wheatland) and
Leah McQuiller (Lackawanna, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) each netted 13 for Villa as well. Senior
Clarissa Walker (Rochester, NY/Genesee Community College) was the fourth Viking in double-figures as she finished with 11 points to go along with six rebounds.
Sophomore
Bianca Brown (Niagara Falls, NY/Jamestown Community College) and senior
Dominique Davis (Buffalo, NY/Genesee Community College) each chipped in nine points while Brown also added nine boards.
After taking a five-point lead into halftime, the Vikings pushed that lead to 12 after three quarters which was enough to secure the win. Villa held York to 37 percent shooting and 28.6 percent from three. Â
