JAMESTOWN, NY - Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry Charter) connected on a game-saving three with 33 seconds left as the Villa Maria College Lady Vikings overcame some late adversity, defeating Jamestown Community College 65-60 on Sunday afternoon.
Owens hit a game-tying triple from the right corner off an inbounds play to knot the score at 60 with 33.1 seconds left, keeping the Lady Vikings' hopes alive late. Â An even bigger play was made 11 seconds later when Owens and junior
Dominique Davis (Buffalo, NY/Genesee Community) combined to force a steal before freshman
Nina Cray (Wheatland, IA/Calamus-Wheatland) dove on the ground, coming up with the loose ball. Â Davis then cashed that turnover into two points, finishing in the paint to give Villa a 62-60 lead.

Jayvonna Kincannon (Buffalo, NY/Genesee Community) completed an old-fashioned three-point-play. Â Kincannon finished the game two assists shy of a triple-double, scoring 12 points, corralling 11 rebounds and dishing out eight helpers.
Owens added eight rebounds and six steals while Davis scored 10 points and had three steals. Â Owens scored 14 of her points in the second half while Davis netted five points in each half. Â Freshman
Nina Cray (Wheatland, IA/Calamus-Wheatland) added eight points, six rebounds and five steals in 38 minutes while fellow freshman
Leah McQuiller (Lackawanna, NY/Mount Mercy Academy) added five points and 10 rebounds.
