Magan Campbell (Buffalo, NY/Erie Community) scored a game-high 19 points and dished out 7 assists, while freshman
Shaquana Owens (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) added 18 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists as Villa took care of the University of Maine Presque Isle 73-54 on Sunday afternoon at the Villa Athletic Center.
The Lady Vikings trailed by five after the first quarter but used an 8-0 run to open the second quarter and never trailed again. Villa out-scored the Owls 28-9 in the second quarter. They continued their hot streak in the third quarter, out-scoring Maine 13-6 as they cruised to a second half victory.
Freshman
Naomi Walker (Buffalo, NY/McKinley) and junior
Jayvonna Kincannon (Buffalo, NY/Erie Community) each added 14 points. Walker recorded a double-double, pulling down 10 rebounds.
Owens added five blocks and five steals to her impressive stat line. Campbell recorded a career-high nine steals as well.
The Lady Vikings will close out a three game home stand in as many days on Monday when they host the USCAA I third-ranked team, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Bengals at 12 p.m.
